River

“River is my best mate. But, raising River was a lot of work. By 8 months I had a high risk dog, both people and dog aggressive. I thought I was at a loss with River to begin with, but he surprised me greatly. I decided not to give up and work on my own knowledge of dog behaviour to try and help him. It was a very slow, very long and very emotional process. It was 2+ years of really hard work to train myself and fix his problems.

And I am so glad I did.

River is now 3 and the absolute light of my life, he's almost faultless. He's now not only comfortable around other dogs and people, he has a very good understanding of how to read other dogs and shows very clear body language. He's been my most influential teacher in the industry and he has taught me more than I could have ever learnt from any training course out there. He has taught me not only how to understand and work with dogs but how to understand myself more. I owe River everything, this photoshoot held so much meaning to me and being able to have him run around as Stephen photographed him was a wonderful experience.
